چکیده
We present the observation of an autoionization cesium 37D5/2 Rydberg atoms in ultracold gases and analyze mechanism. The process is investigated by varying delay time tD atomic density. dependence ionization signals on density shows that has effect not only initial ion but also evolution atoms. results reveal mostly attributed to blackbody radiation (BBR)-induced photoionization, BBR-induced transitions nearby states lead further ionization. Our work plays a significant role investigating collision between many-body physics.

Autoionization of an ultracold Rydberg gas through resonant dipole coupling
We investigate a possible mechanism for the autoionization of ultracold Rydberg gases, based on the resonant coupling of Rydberg pair states to the ionization continuum. Unlike an atomic collision where the wave functions begin to overlap, the mechanism considered here involves only the long-range dipole interaction and is in principle possible in a static system. It is related to the process o...

متن کاملAutoionization of triply excited rydberg series
The Auger rates of triply excited Rydberg series are shown to behave rather differently from doubly excited series. It is shown that in hollow atoms the Auger decay rates for Rydberg series of the type 2l2l(')nl(") with n>/=2 are expected to be nearly independent of n, while for doubly excited series of the type 2lnl(') the decay rate in general decreases with increasing n. In addition the rati...
متن کاملUltracold Chemical Reactions of a Single Rydberg Atom in a Dense Gas
Within a dense environment (ρ ≈ 10 atoms=cm) at ultracold temperatures (T < 1 μK), a single atom excited to a Rydberg state acts as a reaction center for surrounding neutral atoms. At these temperatures, almost all neutral atoms within the Rydberg orbit are bound to the Rydberg core and interact with the Rydberg atom. We have studied the reaction rate and products for nS Rb Rydberg states, and ...
متن کاملDouble autoionization of hollow-atom states
A time-dependent close-coupling method for three-electron atomic systems is formulated to calculate the double autoionization of hollow-atom states. Initial excited states are obtained by relaxation of the Schrödinger equation in imaginary time, while autoionization rates are obtained by propagation in real time. A 12-coupledchannels nonperturbative calculation on a three-dimensional radial lat...
